At Compro, we believe strongly that education is the cornerstone of social progress and development. In line with this perspective, we feel that a key aspect lies in the contribution to the education of underprivileged and differently-gifted children. We support NGOs who are making a significant difference in education and societal change.
Compro Foundation currently partners with NGOs working in the field of education in different parts of the country.
SAMARPAN - New Delhi
Samarpan Foundation works on several fronts. One area of activity includes free education for children who do not have access to basic education. Many live in slums and cannot afford to go to school. Samarpan, besides basic education, provides school supplies and wholesome midday meals to enable these children to learn in a conducive environment.
Compro recently augmented Samarpan's computer lab with several additional computers and a UPS. Ensuring a stable uptime for the students. We are exploring the possibility of identifying students who may want and can benefit from advanced training.
Sanjhi Sikhiya - Punjab
Sanjhi Sikhiya focuses on developing educational leaders in rural Punjab. It brings together young people who have shown leadership potential and then trains them with hands-on experience towards improving learning and governance in schools. The aim of the program is to create a strong community of future leaders in Punjab.
Ummeed - Mumbai
Ummeed focuses on training teachers to teach the differently-gifted. The idea is to bring inclusiveness into the mainstream of education. Ummeed does this by training and creating "inclusive champions" who then work with certain schools to strengthen inclusive values at the school.
