In 2011, Cengage acquired National Geographic Learning (NGL). At that time NGL was developing a new platform for its schools market. Post acquisition, Cengage identified major engineering issues with the platform that needed to be addressed. In March 2012, Compro became the primary engineering partner for this effort. We were responsible for the overall architecture, engineering, ongoing developments and new product releases. In September 2012, Compro released the first version, followed by multiple upgrades and new product additions.
The platform was initially launched with two products: Reach (English) and Science. Additional products were launched on an ongoing basis, including Reach for Reading, World Cultures and Geography, Inside Edge and Our World. MyNGConnect was adopted in more than 1,000 school districts in the US. It received the SIIA CODiE Award 2013 for 'Best Science/Health Instructional Solution.'
